The Infernal Machine: Exclusive Trailer for Guy Pearce’s New Psychological Thriller

Guy Pearce stars as an author haunted by the legacy of his own notorious book in the upcoming psychological thriller The Infernal Machine.

IGN has the exclusive new trailer for the film from writer-director Andrew Hunt, which you can check out via the player above or the insert below. We also have the exclusive poster for the film, which can also be found below.

Described in its official synopsis as a story of “obsession and delusion”, The Infernal Machine sees Pearce play Bruce Cogburn, “a reclusive and controversial author of the famous book The Infernal Machine”.

According to the synopsis, Cogburn “comes out of hiding when he starts receiving endless letters from an obsessive fan.

What follows is a dangerous maze as Bruce searches for the person behind the cryptic messages…forcing him to confront his past and finally revealing the truth behind The Infernal Machine.”

The Infernal Machine is an adaptation of “The Hilly Earth Society,” written by Louis Kornfeld and produced by Jonathan Mitchell for The Truth Podcast.

In addition to Pearce, the cast includes Alice Eve (Star Trek Into Darkness), Jeremy Davies (The Black Phone) and Alex Pettyfer (I Am Number Four).

Rated R for language and some violence, The Infernal Machine is 111 minutes long and was allegedly shot in Portugal.

The Infernal Machines will be released on digital platforms on September 23, 2022.
