Nick Kyrgios makes quick work of his good friend Thanasi Kokkinakis at the US Open | US Open Tennis 2022

Nick Kyrgios put the friendship aside to sail into the second round of the US Open with a direct dispatch of his Grand Slam-winning doubles partner Thanasi Kokkinakis.

Kyrgios broke Kokkinakis in each of the first two sets, then secured victory in a tie-break to brag in the Australian affair 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) at Arthur Ashe Stadium on Monday. night.

The uncomplicated victory, after Serena Williams’ dramatic triumph in the previous match, completed a strong opening day for Australia, with Alex de Minaur, Ajla Tomljanovic and Jordan Thompson also advancing.
