HTC Vive headset goes on sale after Meta and PlayStation price hikes

HTC Vive is running a sale on its VR hardware from August 29 to September 11.

The timing of this couldn’t have been better (or planned) by HTC. Combined with the current UK cost of living crisis and price increases for both the PlayStation 5 and Meta Quest 2, a discount is very welcome.

For UK customers, the full list of discounts includes:

  • VIVE Pro Eye Full Kit is discounted from £150 to £949
  • VIVE Pro Full Kit is discounted from £100 to £819
  • VIVE Pro HMD is discounted from £100 to £399
  • VIVE Cosmos Elite Full Kit is discounted from £100 to £599
  • VIVE Cosmos Elite HMD is discounted from £100 to £349
  • VIVE Cosmos Full Kit is £100 off £399
  • VIVE Deluxe Audio Strap is discounted from £30 to £69

All offers can be found at website of lives.

The discount puts some of the Vive’s offerings at the same price point as Meta Quest 2 now, which had a price increase to £400/£500 last month to try to mitigate the losses Reality Labs is incurring, the division of VR and metaverse of Meta.
