Byron Donalds delivers unmissable demolition of Democratic economic policy during hearing – RedState

Rep. Byron Donalds may not get as much publicity as other Republican politicians, but he is an impressive figure who deserves to be heard. That was on display Thursday during a House hearing focused on the country’s economic woes.

Donald’s witnesses press on what has caused the current inflation crisis and labor shortage, and in doing so completely demolished Democratic economic policy. It’s a must-watch for people who value strong arguments over superficial cheating.

The clip is just over two minutes long, and every second is worth it.

Donalds begins by laying out the main issue, and it’s one the left desperately wants to avoid. I mean, when a government starts spending money like crazy on people who didn’t earn it, you’re left with too many dollars chasing too many goods. Donalds presses the witness on the wisdom of that policy. He initially tries to dodge the question, accusing the Republican of blaming “working people.” That’s when Donalds just soars.

He goes on to say that he’s not blaming the workers, but if there are people getting money who haven’t traded their labor for it, you end up with a labor shortage because people choose not to work. That labor shortage leads to the supply chain crises the nation has suffered.

As Donalds points out, it was the American Bailout Plan that caused all of this. Joe Biden and the rest of the Democratic Party made a decision to bring the economy to its knees and cause massive inflation. Now they want to pretend that this all happened by chance, but was done deliberately by financially illiterate politicians who were after glory rather than good politics.

Donalds asks another witness if his description is fair, and the answer is “yes, I think it’s a fair description.” It was a mic drop moment and the Republican wasn’t done yet. He then made the obvious next point, which is that the only reason gas prices are down is because Biden has emptied the US Strategic Petroleum Reserve. In other words, you paid for those reserves with money. of his taxes, and the president has used them as a political tool to make him believe that he is being taken from one side to another.

Donalds ends with his main point, which is that the Biden administration is blaming corporations for higher prices when it was Democratic policies that caused all of this. When you create a labor shortage for political gain, that leads to the supply chain problems we have, which ultimately leads to higher prices. That’s called supply and demand, and just because Democrats thought the rules of the economy didn’t apply to them doesn’t mean they’re not responsible for the consequences.

Keep an eye on Donalds. This guy has already made a name for himself in a packed GOP Chamber, and I think his future only gets brighter from here.
